El Pueblo – Durham’s Premier Latin/Reggae/Coolstuff Band

Have a look at the videos here of El Pueblo’s farewall Durham gig at Van Mildert College.
El Pueblo have played gigs across the North East since their formation in September last year. This nine piece band features a full four piece brass section, guaranteed to get the crowd dancing! The band is made up of experienced performers who know how to make the best out of your event, and has been seen across the University of Durham and venues in town such as Walkabout, Studio and Fishtank. As of August 2009 the band is no longer performing but who knows what the future may bring!

Mooch Magazine reviewed the band in December 2009:
“When the 9-piece act to follow took to the stage, complete with 4-man brass outfit, the crwod knew the night had begun. El Pueblo covered funk, latin-american, soul and reggae, whilst professing to be a ’90s band with their versions of cheesy classics like Ace of Base going down well with both the student crowd and the more muso types in the audience. The band were tight and their vocalists spot-on… The highlight was the brass section that truly shone. They were together, they hit the right notes and they looked like they were having a cracking good time. El Pueblo got the place jumping and the crowd responded three times with shouts for more.”
